Yesterday was the first day of my "practice" or whatever you want to call it. I played pretty well, falling back a shot or two toward the end of the round to shoot a 2 under par 70. Today, however, things got going well and continued. I rolled in a 12 foot eagle putt on the last hole today to card an 8 under par 64. It ties my lowest round ever.
A few years ago in Shreveport I shot a total of 14 under par over a 4 day period. I'm curious to see how low I can get this week's total with two more days. 10 under after 2 rounds is a pretty solid beginning.
I'm really having a good time out there. I love to practice. I put the iPod on and practiced putting for a couple of hours after my round today. I also hit about a hundred shots with a 52 degree wedge trying to dial into the distance a bit. It's a loft I've not carried before, but I can se how it would be handy to have in the bag. . I like the club, but it's about to be on the list of non-conforming clubs because of the groove design. I also don't like that these "zip" grooves chew the hell out of the golf ball. At $45 a dozen, I can't afford to take a ball out of play after hitting one full wedge shot with it.
I'll tee it up again tomorrow and see what happens.
